Care to Take a Dip?

I love the Lucky Dips that come out for special occasions!  Skyler John from Mystic Sky has pulled hers out of the attic for a special Lucky Cupcake for Valentines Day.  There are some wonderful goodies in it and the odds of winning are very high as there are only 3 booby prizes in the cupcake.  You can dip every three minutes and you could win the gorgeous Annabell Gown, a matching Hibiscus Hair Flower or a Hibiscus Necklace.  This gown has features upon features: two cloaks (pink and green) that open and close, 2 skirt versions and 2 Aster Hair Flowers (Pink and Yellow).  If you don't want to hang around and dip for the gown you can pick it up at 50 % off as all White, Pink and Red items are marked down until Tuesday, 2/15.

While I'm all excited I just wanted to tell you about a new makeup store for me, M.O.C.K.  The creator is Mocksoup Graves and the eye makeup I am wearing is from her Midnight Mania.  She changes out the items frequently in the MM and there are also 2 Lucky Boards.  Anyway, I like her stuff, so go there :)

Mystic Sky: New Gown / New Year

The ever generous Skyler John from Mystic Sky has put a new gown in her lucky chair.  Those of you who follow this popular chair know that Skyler puts a full price item in her chair so there is no skimping on quality.  For the new year she has chosen the elegant Raven gown.  This gown comes with a gorgeous cape with a chained clasp (perfect for all kinds of outfits) as well as two skirt options.  I am wearing the narrower skirt option in the photo.  I'm also wearing what has turned out to be one of my all time favorite gifts from LeLutka.  It's a special version of the Lola line exclusively at Modavia II.  It includes 2 hairbase options and matching chignon.
While you are waiting for your letter at Mystic Sky, make sure you check out the 50% off sale on everything Blue, Silver or White.  The sale ends January 5 and includes new releases like the sweet Loralee Fae outfit in white.  I love the organic elements of this outfit, which is so fitting a faery.

Kouse's Autumn Advent Goodies

I happened to be chatting with Kouse from Kouse's Sanctum and she mentioned that her Autumn advent calendar is still up so I had to go check it out.  There are 30 yummy items in it, most priced between 25 and 50 Lindens, though one does cost more.  While many of the items do have a Halloween flair I noticed that many items can carry over through the fall and other times of the year.  These are special versions of her full priced gowns at a very special price.  I picked two of my favorites to show you.

Help!

My dear friend Kaitlin Peccable publishes Help! Magazine which is dedicated to providing tips and solutions to the challenges we all face in SL.  The issues are usually devoted to a theme that ranges the gamut from child avatars to blogging.  To celebrate the Valentine's Day, several designers have donated gifts to the Help! Magazine Group.  They range from clothing to discounts on photography and I am going to show you a few.
Aleida has offered the sumptuous Lilly Gown.  Deep red textures are accentuated with a black under layer provides elegant contrast and depth.  The gown includes a train of roses as well as a rose hair accessory which make the gown unique.  Best yet, the gown is transferable for gift giving.
The Sweet Bites cannoli makes me think of Sileny who is a big SL foodie.  Because of Sileny I now have a folder dedicated to food food and stuff.  The cannoli is adorable with its bit of whipped cream that ends up on your nose.  Also, Moskva & London has given the lovely Princess Puff earrings in two colors.  I love chandelier type earrings so these will be a favorite!
Baby Monkey has offered an exclusive pair of shoes that will never be sold in the store.  The Christina pump has a lace texture and perky little bows with matching trim.  The shoe, bow/trim and heel/sole are all separately color changing so you can have 343 shoe options in one sweet little shoe.

Kaitlin, I wish you nothing but success!  Follow this slurl to find the Help! Magazine.  There is also a subscriber there to have each issue automatically delivered to you.

ooo I almost forgot!  My hair! I am absolutely in love with the special valentine's hairs offered by Clawtooth and lamb.  Both are a great deal and such fun colors.  Not free but a must have for any serious  hair collector :)

Mystic Sky Valentine's Lucky Cupcake

You can win this fab Belladonna gown in the Lucky Cupcake at Mystic Sky through Sunday.  Here is the deal:  The gown requires two parts to be won.  You are looking for Belladonna Gown Box 1 and Box 2.  The dip is set on a 3 minute timer and there are more prizes than gags so your odds of winning are better than average.  I really like this idea as it could go faster than a lucky chair.  And if you are really impatient, like me, there is a 50% off sale on all Red and Pink clothing items in the store and this gown is included.
You can also win a matching accessory for your hair and a set of red checkered eyes.
Also for pose lovers, FD Poses has included 2 couples poses for 50% off.  You can also pick them up at Mystic Sky.

Thank you, Skyler John of Mystic Sky and Foxx Demonia of FD Poses, for your generosity!

Trubble: Midnight Mania.  Only 25 slaps so if its full make sure you come back the next day.  It's so worth it!

Mystic Sky January Lucky Chair Gown

I'm always so happy when Skyler John from Mystic Sky puts a new gown in her lucky chair.  This one is called Autumn Gown in Brown.  She always adds special options to her gowns and this time there are two different color options for the collar and bodice ruffles.  I am showing the gold but you also get brown if you want more contrast.  I am rather small chested for an av so I did need to modify the ruffles, which is easy to do if you click on "edit linked parts" so you can move the various pieces to fit your body.  Just make sure you copy them first!  Happy chair stalking!

Kouse's Resolution

My darling friend Elliandra blogged this dress but I'm sure she won't mind if I share it with you.  Kouse's Sanctum has a gorgeous gown, Resolution, out in black for only 1 L.  It is stunning and the top layer of prims don't lay like that.  I am on an alt and she has no poses.

Kuri Style Newness II

Kuri Style has released 2 new outfits that are exceptionally fun and daring.  You can get one color in each style for only 2 L for a brief time.  And you really should...Also, Aden has opened a new shop on Harold and to celebrate has marked all hair to 50 L a color. This is tres cheap for Aden so don't miss it!

OK... gonna try to sleep now. Insomnia stinks.

Medieval Girls <3 Christmas, Too!

Skyler John from Mystic Sky has restocked her lucky chair with a new gown just in time for Christmas.  Ella in a rich green comes with a wonderful cape that would help keep you from freezing while you sang carols (which the church recently relented and allowed) at the tree erected in the town's square.  You have to see the gown up close to truly appreciate the extra time taken to texturize the bodice and skirt front.  Pewter details accentuate the gown and cloak.

I wanted to show you the detail on the cloak as well.  The cloak is floor length. Go grab some wassail and get stalking!

Mer-Elf Goodies

Morgaine Price, owner of Mer-Elf Creations was kind enough to show me some of the wonderful outfits you can get for free at her shop right now.  In addition to the free items you can hunt for or win, she is having a substantial sale on some of her older gowns, which are gorgeous.  The gown directly below is Aurelina gown in Harvest that you can get in the Myths and Legends hunt.  There is a big sign in the store that shows you what you are looking for and it is not too hard to find.

Several of us Free*Stylers have shown you items from Atomic's fantastic Halloween hunt so I won't repeat details but I wanted to show you a close up of the skin from the hunt.  It is from the Bailey line and I love it for it's youthfulness.  You can find it in several tones and it comes in 2 lip colors and freckled versions in each folder.  I love the glossy lips!

There is a great lucky dip also at Mer-Elf with numerous prizes including a fairy dress, mermaid AO, unisex belt, gift cards and this Halloween version of the Aurelina gown.  This one comes with numerous skirt, sleeve and belt options for about a million different combination possibilities.  I'm showing it in a short version with a belt but no sleeves for a casual look.

Just a quick note about the Mer-Elf locations.  The main store is in a mature district so you must be age-verified to get the first gown.  However, both the lucky dip and gown sale are also available at her Vanity Fayre Boutique, which does not require age verification.

Mirabelle

The talented Skyler John from Mystic Sky has loaded her lucky chair with a different gown.  Beginning this evening you can win the lovely Mirabelle gown in sapphire.  It also includes a straighter skirt, which is in the same lush satin texture.  If the chair is not being lucky for you it is available in the store for 450 L.  I told her it perfectly matched the University of Michigan's team colors, who play Penn State this weekend..ROFL.  You can stalk the chair while you watch the game if you can get US nework stations.

PS.  While you are stalking the chair, all black, gold and orange outfits are 50% off until 8 pm SLT on Friday.

Do the Bustle!

I'm back from the depths of computer repair hell. Don't ever let them tell you it will be only 1 - 2 days to put a new fan in your iMac because they lie! It stretched out for a week, so I called them at least twice a day to make their lives as miserable as mine was without my comp.

It was nice to come back and hear from Skyler John who has a new gown in her Lucky Chair at Mystic Sky. Skyler continues to show her increasing range of style with the exceptional Serendipity gown. It features a brocade bodice and pink satin skirt and sleeves. The skirt features a bustle that extends around the back. Bustles were popular during the Victorian era (mid to late 1800's with a 6 year haitus out of style) so this is a perfect gown to have for special balls and such. (Morbid Outlook)
Bustles were considered very appealing to the opposite sex during this sexually repressed period of time. They were also a sign of wealth because the lower classes could not afford the excess fabric needed to make this embellishment. It also would be a bit foolish to do your chores in a bustle. And I just wanted to show you my back end like Winter did below. :)
Also, quickly, the skin and hair I am wearing are available only til midnight SLT tonight as they are part of 50 Linden Fridays. (I love 50 L Fridays!) Details below.

Wee Little Treasures

Foxxy Designs and Mystic Sky are pairing up for a little hunt with great prizes. There are 4 little treasure chests to be found, one pink and one blue at each store. The trick the the hunt is that the chests are very small and well hidden but contain products that normally sell for full retail value in the stores. The other twist is that they aren't telling with prizes are at which store! Evil!
Mystic Sky's offerings are the Arya Gown for women (shown above) and Eragon in blue for men (shown below). Also shown in the picture below are really nice shapes offered by Foxxy Designs. My partner, Arial, is wearing the Alexandre shape and I am wearing the Kitten shape. Both shapes are copy/mod so you can tweak them as you desire.
The Foxxy Design treasure chest also contains these amazing tattoos; Pirate for men and Belly Gun for women. In order to keep the post a reasonable length I did not show the back side of the men's tat but it is amazing with a full back tattoo of a woman. It is gorgeous.
The hunt begins today and ends on 8/20 so you have plenty of time to find those sneaky little treasure boxes. Good Luck!

Princess for a Day

I've been freebie/cheaping hunting since I figured out how to leave Orientation Island. In spite of that there are times when I am utterly dumbfounded by the the extreme quality of the gifts that some designers share with us. These two gowns fall into this category.

The first gown is a gift from Kouse's Sanctum when you join the subscriber group. The Boleyn Girl (loved the movie!) gown is a stunning Caribbean blue in a rich satin. It's braided trim and embroidered bodice lend to it's opulence.
For great accessories for either gown head over to Deco at the Vagabonds and Festivale locations through Friday where everything in the store is 25L (prices are normally 100 - 800 L). I am wearing the Memories set below. One of her designs, the Platinum Pendant Set, is only 1 L, and is a great art deco design and perfect when I wear retro outfits. All jewelry at Deco is transferable so load up on prezzies while you have a chance. The Serenity Skin is from the group exclusive lucky board at Cupcakes. The group has a 100 L join fee. I've been a member since way back when I was in the Rosemar group and I have gotten my lindens back over and over again. Hempy Weezles turned me on to AY.LinE when she hollered at me to clear a lucky chair. This one is not on of the lucky sets, which are fat packs. There are 2 boards with different styles (fatpacks, not single colors). The stunning eyes (Strange Purple) are one of my much loved sets from Tacky Star, who's owner, Aura Faulta, has singlehandedly rescued me from shoddy eyes. 50 L per set in many sizes.
The Samantha gown from the Lucky Chair at Mystic Sky is a deep, luscious royal blue. It has a rich tapestry texture and braided trim. Still pictures cannot do justice to the way this dress moves. It's flow, for lack of better word at the moment, is purposeful, sensuous and regal. My friend, Skyler John, who owns Mystic Sky has become a fantastic designer. Some of her outfits for men, women and small people are 50 %. Check out her newest design, even if it is just to drool. The hair I am wearing here is AY.LinE's current group gift, Nemu. It comes in a fatpack and in two sizes. It has risen to the top of my favorite hair shops list!
Happy shopping/chair stalking!
