Fashion: Joni and Anya's Headbands
Now that makes 3 of us with the same headband straight from the department store :)
I wonder where my sister got her Rachel Zoe bolero. I envy.
Beauty: Goodbye to my Long Hair
I've been itching to cut my hair, just for the heck of it because I need change. I have this belief that whenever I cut my hair, I get good luck. Sometimes, I also like cutting it whenever I am frustrated. weirdo.

Headed to the nearest Tony & Jackey in the neighborhood, it was my first time to go there and I prayed hard for my hair not to look like an isosceles triangle. I was aiming for a fierce sharp haircut like Anna Wintour's.

Because I want to look like this in the front row. Wish ko lang. But I don't think I have hair like that, in equivalent fractions. Plus, my husband would kill me if I get hair as short as Anna's.
Instead of looking fierce, I looked like a sweet little girl x.x I wish I can have line plot fringes like but the stylist said the cut would look better without the full bangs.

Wearing the Tiffany scarf my sister Joni sent me from OZ. At least, now I can use all the headbands I've brought because most of them suit short hair.

Here's my black i dont know what to call it headband, same as my niece Anya's pink one. Honestly, I prefer fierce rather than cute. Will bring out my giant sunnies tom. and work this hairdo.

Headturning Headbands from SM!
One trend that seems to stick around is headbands! Now it's all about ribbons and frills, no longer feathers and nets.
I was shopping around last week when I saw these:

headbands with sequined ribbons, studs, and some with the metallic rocker look.
Actually it was my sister Joni who discovered the new stocks of headbands in SM. She got one for my niece Anya and we ended up trying it on our heads instead haha :) Since they left for Australia, I had to get the exact same thing for myself.

I lurve it! Can't wait to wear it one of these days.
There are other designs which are puffy-er but this one is subtle and would fit easier with my wardrobe.
Whatchathink?

Feathered Headbands and Mini Hats

peacock feathered headband and victorian mini hat with veil
Welcome back to the Victorian Era! Headbands have been making a come-back ever since Gossip Girl. But when everyone is donning a big bow on their heads like Minnie Mouse, you can enjoy a more sophisticated style of hair accessories.

peacock feather multi-purpose brooch
Big ribbons and bows are over, entering the scene are padded or feathered headbands. The most elusive designs are those with a faux peacock feather, so elusive that some just decide to make them from scratch. You can make your own feathered headband just by gathering a plain headband, glue gun, backing fabric, and feathers. All of which are readily available in department stores in Manila.
When I personally went to SM Department Store to get my materials, I was taken aback when I saw these:

Feathered headbands, clip on hair accessories, and Victorian mini hats in SM Department Store. Click to enlarge and have fun choosing!
Now we don't have to make our own when each headband and mini hats with veils only cost around Php 250. In Multiply stores, headbands are kind of overpriced as well as in other shops that I have checked out.

These hair accessories can either spell sophisticated or if not worn properly, they could appear like a circus on your head. However, it's great to grab them now before they are off the racks. Perfect for super parties or when you just feel melodramatic :)
Bath Robe Inspired Outfit
Ever wish you can go out in your bath robe? Just a fun thought to hold on :) I've always loved bath robes and wrap around dresses, they look like kimonos and feel very comfy. This long wrap-around cardigan came with a tie, layering it on top of another dress made the sleeves appear longer.

To avoid that just came out of the bathroom look, I pinned the spider brooch I got from Degraves St. here in Melbourne.
Today is officially winter.

Bowling and Dancing
Afternoon: Bowling at Strike Bar Melbourne
Tricks: The white dress (yes it is a dress) belongs to my older sister. Make a dress into a shirt by gathering the fabric at the back, tie with a rubberband and insert under the back of the dress. The headband is not a headband but a white rope that came with the dress. Secure with hairpins
Evening: Dancing in Baraki
Just changed shoes from bowling to metallic flats perfect for the night out.
Belt as Headband
Here's what I made of the flowing cardigan that I purchased at Queen Victoria Market.

Worn with black turtleneck long sleeves and black skinny pants. The cardigan came with a belt of the same fabric and color which I tied around my head for a clean look :) What do you think?
