A Little about Rad Minds Inc.

Quoted straight from the group notecard:

RMI is a group that is dedicated to supporting and promoting quality alternative designers here in Second Life. The group is not limited to one style, but rather embraces all styles that are off the beaten path. From the slightly odd to the most extreme, Rad has it all.

My goals for Rad are to succeed where other groups have, in my opinion, failed. There are plenty of fashion groups out there, but it seems they get over run with designers of low quality and/or members who are looking for handouts. Also, many of the these groups are either too focused on certain styles, or not focused enough, so I am trying to find a middle ground. Because of these issues, many good designers, old and new, get overlooked. This is something I want to change and is why I started this group.

My hope for Rad is to support quality designers of many types and to offer group members exclusive gifts, hunts, sales, etc.. There is no fee for getting into the group, but designers may set gifts out for group members only and charge 10-20L instead of for free. This helps the designers, as well as the group, by keeping out the people who pop in and out of groups just to get free stuff.

I mentioned exclusive gifts, hunts, sales and more. In this group you will receive gifts from the designers at their discretion. Any hunts and/or events that are organized will not be free, but rather cost a small fee per item (10L-50L). This is to further support the designers and keep from breaking your linden wallets while giving you access to quality items.

If you are looking for quality alternative items and like to support their designers, then Rad would be a great group for you.

A Different Sort of Ship

I'm normally off on a different sort of ship. You know, the kind that goes around space? but that is another tale to tell.

This one is of Pirate Helena!


It's not often a woman of my caliber crashes anything. Specially a ship, but it does happen from time to time, normally after a few centuries of boredom.

What you need when you decide to do something like this is a hot little outfit to win over the locals!

Too bad where I decided to crash it was home of foot tall furry critters all running around and fishing. Still to this day this world amazes me. Wonder if they would be yummy to eat? *ponders*


To appease the denizens of your new home, you must have something on your body. Deviance is the place for costumes of all sorts, and there is more then a few in the Lucky Cupcake(Like this Pirate Costume, previously blogged a year ago in the pink version) and some others in the Lucky Chair. Surreal makes wonderful garments that are constantly on this blog, she is generous, talented, and a dreamer at heart.

Next to be a real pirate you need your eyepatch. Do you really NEED one? NO. Do you really WANT one? Yes!

But why go normal, go all out! This eyepatch is a special gift from Actuate Eden to celebrate their new store. Thank the gods it wasn't pink, I'd have cried!


Now you could wear the hat that comes with the outfit . . . or you could grab this one that is currently in the Rad Minds Hunt. You never can have enough pirate hats right? Morrigan Denimore of The Black Canary made this little beauty. There actually are 2 versions, so more fun for you.


As with most things, I'm not totally right. A far bit of strange was to be had on the sea in my merry vessel. If your something otherworldly, but like to fit in somewhat and must be in more human appearance, eyes are the way to go. They really can give that one element of "odd". Let everyone know who you really are, Eh?

We have all heard that Phoenix Rising is leaving sl and has a big ass L$100 sale going on. What you all might not have known was in July Ashoka place some discontinuation stuff out way way in the back of her store. Some of it is still out, and it is priced between L$1-L$15.

I recently stumbled across a little shop called Into the Hallow while on a different sort of adventure. Now Dame Hallow has a generous heart, and even tho new to our SL world, she is more then generous. The other awesome this is her items are quality items. She enjoyed the post I did on my own blog so much, and a few others from bloggers on the grid, that she made a special Blog-tastic gift(the dress above is part of this gift)! It is for her group members only, but the group is free to join. It seems with each notice(and the come frequently) she has her new releases, but also switches up her lucky chair and MM board. She not only has the MM board and Lucky Chair, but just put up a Gacha that has some really awesome Hats. You can see them on her Flickr HERE!


Also part of the Blog-tastic Gift is this lil nose moth. In the store you will also find a package of eyes as a gift. I'm wearing the one eye here, This Broken Lens eye in Sepia Dark.


You can also get this super cute Hat in the inworld update group, just click her joiner near the Lucky Chair to get an invite. I'm also wearing the other version of the This Broken Lens eyes. The backgrounds shown all thru the post are also a gift at the store, I did change the colouring a bit on this one, but the pack comes with 6 dark themed colourings. They were gift wrap textures, but I sort of thought I could get away blogging with them =)

Now part of the reason I found Into the Hallow was because of a new group for fans of Horror/Macabre. It's called Woeful Wednesdays. It will eventually comprise of 40 designers, each bring you a design every wednesday with the darker themes in mind. These items will be set for only L$50.

The Stringer Mausoleum is in this event, and I have to say, The Stringer is very happy about it! Here is what I made for the event. This will be a special edition, a "Tamer" version will be going into the store. It also is a preview of my new 2010 hair textures. I'll have next to the vendor L$1 pack of wearable tester hairs, so you can see the texture before you buy it. What is a wearable tester hair? Regular hair actually, no signs, copy/mod. It's just the way I do my testers, so enjoy!

Hey . . . Who did that . . . and how the hell do I get out of this thing?

I decided to dehermit myself for both a good and a bad thing today.

If anyone IM's me about it, I'll probably rip your head off, and in the theme of today, that wouldn't be a very good thing, so just leave it be okay guys, yes, I know it's going on, I can see my avi and I grimace.

That being said there is a very good reason this anti-pink wearing Canadian sl designer is wearing pink today.

To make a long story short, 3 years ago in a Canadian school, a male student got bullied for wearing a pink shirt on his first day of high school. Over the past 3 years, across the country and globally, the day is now sort s celebratory stand, against bullies, and what it means to be bullied. This mostly accomplished by peer support.

Now it might have started in a high school, with teenage students, but the issue of bullying goes across many age groups.

A group of designers took it upon themselves to bring the awareness here, in sl. I'm sure you have heard some sort of story, or had something happen to you yourself. So join the "Sea of Pink" today, even if it might not be your fav colour and you'd rather have acid dumped in your eyes.

I kissed a Mango and I liked it!

HEEEEEEY YOUUUUUUUUUU GUUUUUUUUYS!

Ya it's me, I'm back(sort of). I've been super sick the last 4 months, and am starting to try to get back into a more normal routine again. My first post of the year was going to be a man post, but I couldn't resist these Mango, Mango Skins. I don't normally do posts on openings, group gifts, and whatnot, cause the blogs are so saturated with them. But I could not RESIST these skins. Honest. I was rolling around on the floor in them like they were the demon version of catnip.

You'll see in the pic above, I'm wearing Mango, Mango's Skin Dollarbie made for the reopening of Aqua. And well it's Aqua! This made me very happy, cause after hearing about [42] closing down, I didn't know where I was going to get my basic everyday coloured skins. I mean I'm aqua like every other hour! Well maybe every other day. These horns from House of Ruin were perfect for this skin, you can nab them in the 7Seas fishing area on the Mountain at the Aurora Vale Sim . These eyes were only L$30 at the Valentines Bazaar, made by Little Pricks( a store name to really sink into eh?).

So Aqua skin, for Aqua opening. So what can you get from Aqua? Well like always they are very generous. You can nab this little black dress that makes even my small boobs look massive. I'm wearing pirate boots from Duh! to go with it.


Here I have on the other "coloured" skin from Mango, Mango, called Purple and Proud. It went perfect with the L$5 deal from Aqua, this little lavender boob wrapper(so not named that guys). Same Duh! boots, different Duh! colour.

Aqua happens to be in a few hunts, this lingerie is a gift from the Burning Hearts hunt. I paired it with Mango, Mango Sun Goddess skin, which is a steal at the Valentines Bazaar.


This dress is part of the Heat Wave hunt. I'm wearing Mango, Mango skin in Classic, which you can nab for L$150 for a wee bit longer.

I just had to show you my fav Mango, Mango Skin, Lemonade in Pale. It's sooooo hard finding yellow makeup. Not gold, yellow!

Hunting for Slippers

So here is the spoiler!

You wanted to see the gifts, and here I got them for you!

You saw the last post on freestyle with Achariya showing the Katat0nik dress. Now here is the rest:



I'll start you off with a green mix. I love green, it's my favvy sl colour. So hard to find the right shades in rl. So here I'm wearing a few bits from the Silent Sparrow hunt gift, Grassies. It's a continuation of her much loved jammie sets. This one with a grasshopper theme. There is the skirt, shorts, shirt, gloves, tattoo and the little head tentacles. I'm wearing with it the hunt gift skin from Schadenfreude.



These skins come in 2 tones, and you get them in both womens and mens versions. The sparkles on the makeups are simply wonderful. Allegory wrote a little note about the skins, stating she already has these skin, but in other colours, at her mainstore. Now the funny thing is she never did this colouration before, and if anyone knows Allegory, it was a shocker. No Green already made? giggles.



Now to show off the dude jammies. I was so happy with all the wonderful green. So the shirt and pants are the rest of the Silent Sparrow hunt gift. Now these Antennae wear made by the wonderful Radio Signals. She might not be on the Magic of Oz sim, but she was kind enough to make them, and have them thrown in with the Silent Sparrow hunt gift. They come in all face attachment points, so bonus to that. The cane is from Arcavim, as part of their hunt gift. The cane puffs clouds of steam. The glasses are the mens hunt gift from Crie Style. as with their jewelry and monacles, they brought a level of expert crafting into a item that is seamingly simple. They are resizable, which was great, cause my dude's face is big.



Now some of you might know, some of you might not, but Magic of Oz has been bunnah crazy for the last few weeks. The launch of Ozimals is coming up soon, and everyone is hyped. I made these bunnah ears way back in July, and never got them out in the store(still working on scripts, uggg). So this set I share with you as my hunt gift, you get the ears, whiskers and tail. It has a little charm on it that says "Oz Bunnah".

Malkavyn, part sim owner, and designer of malContent, made this cute little shoulder bunnah critter as his hunt gift. It's a moody little thing. It's actually called a Minimood Bunneh. You click him and can change his mood, it will display the mood, but also change it's little face. The faces are so funny.



Here I'm wearing the womens hunt gift from Arcavim. It's this wonderful umbrella, which has an animation while you are holding it. I'm actually doing it, but well you obviously can't see me moving! The dress is the Crie Style hunt gift for women. It so goes perfect with the umbrella. Has a sort of mutted colour with bits of green splashed about, it you look closely.



Next up we got the 2 hunt gifts from The Laughing Academy. These hats are wonderful, you can tell Tabitha Ninetails had fun making them. They are unisex I would say, but the tophat moreso. They are really in the theme of Oz, with a token from each of the movie's memorable characters. They went well with the hunt gift from Evie's Closet, this Silk set. MMMMM more wonderful green. As with all items from EC, this has all those added touches you have come to expect. Resizes easily.



You might know of the now famed Risusipo Jun, who has made Oz sprout full of little Chipmunk
and Otter tinies. Well the store has branched out, and for the holiday season, there is a little witches shop up on the Witch's Castle, filled with halloweeny type things. One of the new products is this Bunny Witch set. This colour you can get as the hunt gift!

And as always the little peguins make an appearance in the hunt, with this dragonfly riding halloween peguin. It is a wearable, and flies around your head.



Risusipo Jun is always very generous and supportive of the Magic of Oz sim, helping with all sorts of events and whatnot. These 3 gifts are also in the hunt, making it a total of 4. These little characters sit on either shoulder(I put the ghost on my head), and are animated to open and shut their eyes.



PrettiFuL is offering 2 hunt gifts. These wonderful scepters. They are scripted to poof stars, and have a twirl gesture. The pumpkin one has 5 different pumkin texture types you can click thru.

Awwww I'm holding hands with myself.



LouLou&Co has put 2 gift in the hunt. These wonderful belts you can get in these 2 colours. They have little buckles and pouches on them for added detail. I'm sure you can get alot of use out of the orange one in the upcoming weeks.



Magic of Oz has sort of gotten known for it's Wearables. When it frist opened there was a little scarecrow and tree shoulder buddy, various other vendors have offered shoulder pets/buddies
. Now it's JD Mechanical Toy Factory's turn to bring you a little critter of your own. It's a traditional Halloween Scarecrow. He has a bit of glow to him, and sort of makes you think he's totally laughing at you while trying to figure out how to lop your head off.



JD Mechanical Toy Factory also had a decorative pumkin in it's hunt gift package, show here with the Rebel-X hunt gift. This gift is a nice low prim decoration that you could put out at your home or store, and with the monochromatic theme, it can easily fit in anywhere.



MnM made these crazy Boots for their hunt gift. You really have to sit there and take a look at them, the texturing on these things are simply wicked, and they will be great for any elf/frumpy witch outfits for the season.



Last I leave you with my model LadyLight Koolhoven, she always helps me when there is hair, since I can't wear it, but it needs to be shown. This hair is the hunt gift from Wasabi Pills. It's a hunt exclusive colour. LadyLight paired with with the hunt gift from KessCreations, which is a whole outfit! you get shoes, stockings with bows, even a hair bow which you can't see, the whole dress and a matching necklace! Now the gift is titled *Hilarious* Dorothy. We could not figure out what was so funny so if you find out please share, I'm rl blonde and sometimes have things go over my head.
