Portal 2 walkthrough with commentary; Chell screenshots

A Youtube user uploaded a Portal 2 playthrough, edited down to the developer commentary portions. Above is part one. (The paint/gel mechanics are derived from a student game called Tag: the Power of Paint. Very interesting to listen to how the designers "train" the players as they play through the game.)

And speaking of Portal, here's some Chell screenshots:

The Dirt 3 limited edition comes with a Traxxas Ken Block Gymkhana Fiesta, which sells for $300 alone. So, the bundle with the game and car is practically a steal for $300 at Amazon. Via.

The reaction video for that Borderlands proposal

OK, if you missed it when I posted it this morning, here's a very funny wedding proposal video Gearbox created for two fans of Borderlands:

And here's the actual proposal video:

DC created a super hero costume tailor shop in the real world

As the video explains, Mr. Lee's Tailor shop was opened in Madrid to create costumes for super heroes and villains. It was a promotion dreamed up by Leo Burnett to advertise DC Universe Online.

Wedding proposal by video game character

Kotaku:
Ben reached out to Gearbox a while back, mentioning that when he and Tora first started dating, he had to give her "the gamer talk," in which he explained his hobby and the fact it might make him incommunicative and emotionally unavailable for hours at a time. Tora's response: "I love Borderlands! Let's play!"
The video's very funny.

Funny Portal 2 moment, Portal 2 in third person

If you go back after escaping Wheatley's first trap, he tries very hard to convince you to jump into the pit. Sounds like there's some great stuff down there.

Also, here's two videos showing Portal 2 in third-person (fyi, there's a childish, leering moment late in the second video, but it's otherwise very cool):

And while I'm at it, here's the every end of Portal 1 in third person:

Tetris in heaven

A recent funny xkcd strip featured Tetris in heaven. The concept has already been turned into a game you can play in your browser. As you can see, every so often, you get the perfect piece.

Because at least one reader demanded it, MORE Portal links!

1. Companion cube and other Portal paper toys.

2. Aperture Science logo wallpapers (Wheatley, too).

3. Spaaaaaace!

4. An interesting interpretation of what happens at the end of the game.

5. There's a Portal 2 iPhone app that sounds incredible.

6. Destructoid's review of Portal 2:
Portal 2 is, without a doubt, one of the best games ever made. It's a game that not only seamlessly blends puzzle and adventure elements together, but makes a name for itself as a true "comedy" game, where witty dialog and laugh-out-loud concepts have been given an equal billing with the gameplay itself. It's funny, it's challenging, it's inventive, and it boasts memorable moments that will stick in your mind and make your hair stand on end every time you think about them.
7. Seriously, even if you don't like playing games, you should watch the single and multiplayer campaigns.

Portal 2 easter eggs and more

Portal 2 easter eggs spotted by Reddit users:

Wallpaper-sized screencap of the blue screen of death.

The overgrown potato science project has Chell's name on it.

I certainly didn't notice this - - but apparently, when you look at the art at the beginning of the game, there's no moon. The second time you see it, there's a prominent moon.

A high-res screencap of P-Nut's appearance in the single player campaign.

High-res screencap of Wheatley.

Valve added several new Portal t-shirts and posters to their store, including three turret moon.

That's right, even more Portal 2 coverage

Portal/Mortal Kombat mashup features fatalities that utilize the Portal gun. (these are pretty violent.)

P-Body makes an appearance in the single player campaign.

Youtube user:
On test chamber 16 I found if you destroy the turret in the vent, it will explode and you can enter. Through the grates at the bottom you'll find 4 sentry guns who will play a little song for you =).

How to get the achievement "Break the Rules" in Portal 2. (A sad little moment with a companion cube.)

Via Kotaku, the extras menu features an interactive trailer for Super 8 - - you walk through the trailer as if it was a Portal level.
